1. Flag-state seaman books (CDC / SIRB)

A seaman book — a Certificate of Discharge, Seafarer’s Identity and Record Book, or CDC depending on the registry — is issued by a flag state, not by us. Our job is to prepare, submit, and track your file with that registry so it clears first time.

We process seaman books for seven flag states:

2. Renewals, endorsements, transfers, and verification

Most of our repeat work is not first-time books. It is the lifecycle around them:

• Renewals — filed before expiry so you do not lose a contract to a lapsed document. Start the clock early; our 90-60-30 renewal timeline explains why.
• Endorsements — Certificate of Endorsement (COE) for officers, Certificate of Competency (COC) renewals and upgrades, Ratings CDC, and specialized endorsements including GMDSS, Ship Security Officer (SSO), and Security Awareness Training (STSDSD).
• Transfers and replacements — moving your record to a different flag, or replacing a lost or damaged book.
• Verification — confirming a book’s legitimacy directly with the issuing authority. 3. STCW certification services

The STCW Convention — the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, adopted in 1978 and substantially rewritten by the 2010 Manila amendments — sets the minimum training every seafarer must hold. Flag states are obliged to meet or exceed it, which is why no book gets issued without the underlying certificates. (IMO)

Refreshers: Basic Training refresher, Advanced Firefighting refresher, Proficiency in Survival Craft refresher.

4. Offshore training courses

For oil, gas, and offshore wind work, the seaman book is only half the file. The other half is offshore safety training:
