Seamanbooks.com Services: Everything We Offer in 2026

If you landed here looking for a straight answer on what seamanbooks.com services actually cover, this page is the full list. Seamanbooks.com is the maritime documentation arm of Atomiq Group, an ISO 9001:2015-certified consultancy based in Business Bay, Dubai. We handle three things for seafarers and the companies that crew vessels: flag-state seaman books, STCW certification, and offshore safety training — plus the crew management work that sits around them.

Everything below is a service we deliver today. Where processing times are quoted, they are the working-day estimates we publish for each flag state, not guarantees — a file with a missing medical certificate moves at the speed of the missing document, not the registry.

Seamanbooks.com services at a glance

Seamanbooks.com provides seaman book (CDC) processing for seven open-registry flag states, STCW basic and advanced certification, and OPITO- and GWO-aligned offshore courses including BOSIET and HUET. Atomiq Group also supplies crew recruitment, travel coordination, and vessel compliance support to employers.

1. Flag-state seaman books (CDC / SIRB)

A seaman book — a Certificate of Discharge, Seafarer’s Identity and Record Book, or CDC depending on the registry — is issued by a flag state, not by us. Our job is to prepare, submit, and track your file with that registry so it clears first time.

We process seaman books for seven flag states:

Panama

Costs are quoted per file rather than listed, because the total depends on the flag state, whether you need endorsements, and whether courier delivery is involved. Ask and you get a written figure with no add-ons afterwards.

Not sure which flag to pick? Our flag state seaman book comparison breaks down cost, time, and acceptance side by side.

2. Renewals, endorsements, transfers, and verification

Most of our repeat work is not first-time books. It is the lifecycle around them:

  • Renewals — filed before expiry so you do not lose a contract to a lapsed document. Start the clock early; our 90-60-30 renewal timeline explains why.
  • Endorsements — Certificate of Endorsement (COE) for officers, Certificate of Competency (COC) renewals and upgrades, Ratings CDC, and specialized endorsements including GMDSS, Ship Security Officer (SSO), and Security Awareness Training (STSDSD).
  • Transfers and replacements — moving your record to a different flag, or replacing a lost or damaged book.
  • Verification — confirming a book’s legitimacy directly with the issuing authority. Crewing managers use this before signing a candidate on; seafarers use it when they bought a book from someone they should not have. Our guide on how to verify a seaman book online covers the Panama, Liberia, and RMI portals.

Verification matters more than it used to. Fake documentation is circulating widely enough that we wrote a guide to spotting seaman book scams — worth ten minutes before you pay anyone, including us.

3. STCW certification services

The STCW Convention — the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, adopted in 1978 and substantially rewritten by the 2010 Manila amendments — sets the minimum training every seafarer must hold. Flag states are obliged to meet or exceed it, which is why no book gets issued without the underlying certificates. (IMO)

We arrange enrolment and certification across four tiers, through approved training centers:

Basic Safety Training (BST): Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention and Basic Firefighting, Elementary First Aid, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities.

Advanced: Advanced Firefighting, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, Medical First Aid, Medical Care.

Specialized: GMDSS, Radar and ARPA, ECDIS, Ship Security Officer, Bridge Resource Management.

Refreshers: Basic Training refresher, Advanced Firefighting refresher, Proficiency in Survival Craft refresher.

Candidates from India, Nepal, and the GCC states are the bulk of our intake. Full breakdown in STCW courses explained.

4. Offshore training courses

For oil, gas, and offshore wind work, the seaman book is only half the file. The other half is offshore safety training:

Course

Who needs it

BOSIET — Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training

3 days

Anyone travelling offshore by helicopter

HUET — Helicopter Underwater Escape Training

1 day

Helicopter passengers; often bundled with BOSIET

H₂S Awareness

Ship Cook Certificate

Courses are delivered against OPITO, GWO, and STCW-aligned standards. Book through offshore training enrolment, or read the offshore oil and gas certification requirements guide first if you are not sure what your employer expects.

5. Crew management and vessel services for employers

Atomiq maritime services extend past individual seafarers. For owners, managers, and manning agents we provide:

  • Crew recruitment — sourcing certified officers and ratings against your requisition
  • Bulk documentation — seaman books and STCW certification for an entire crew on one timeline
  • Travel and mobilisation support — visas, tickets, and joining logistics
  • Vessel inspection and ship management support
  • Compliance support for offshore vessels — documentation, training, and flag-state coordination as a package

If you are crewing a vessel rather than joining one, tell us the headcount and the flag and we will quote the whole file.

6. What every engagement includes

Three things are constant regardless of which service you buy:

Document pre-checks. We verify your paperwork against the registry’s requirements before submission. Rejected applications cost days, and days cost contracts.

Direct flag-state coordination. Files go to the administration, not through an intermediary chain.

Remote handling worldwide. You do not need to be in Dubai. Scanned submission, courier delivery, and support in your time zone. Seafarers of any nationality can apply to the registries we work with.

We operate under ISO 9001:2015 certification from our Dubai office, as part of Atomiq Group’s wider consultancy practice. Our parent listing, Atomiq Consultants on Google, carries a 4.9-star rating across 315 client reviews spanning our maritime and non-maritime service lines — read them before you commit to anyone.

Who we work with

Aspiring seafarers taking a first contract. Experienced officers renewing before a join date. Offshore oil, gas, and renewables personnel. Crewing managers and manning agents. Maritime training institutes placing cohorts.

Frequently asked questions

What services does seamanbooks.com offer?

Seamanbooks.com offers flag-state seaman book (CDC) processing for Panama, Palau, Bahamas, Belize, Liberia, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Honduras, plus renewals, endorsements, and verification. We also arrange STCW basic, advanced, and refresher certification, offshore courses including BOSIET and HUET, and crew management for employers.

Is seamanbooks.com the same company as Atomiq Group?

Seamanbooks.com is the maritime documentation brand of Atomiq Group, a Dubai-based consultancy operating across twelve service areas. Maritime work — seaman books, STCW certification, offshore training, and crew management — runs under the seamanbooks.com name. Both share the same Business Bay office, the same ISO 9001:2015 certification, and the same Google listing, filed as Atomiq Consultants.

Which seaman book should I apply for?

It depends on the vessel you are joining. Your employer’s flag state decides for you in most cases. If you are applying speculatively, Panama offers the widest acceptance, Palau the fastest turnaround, and Honduras the lowest entry barrier. Ask us and we will match the flag to your target sector.

How long does a seaman book take?

Standard processing runs one to five working days depending on the flag state, with 24-hour express options on most registries and a Panama Temporary Certificate available in around 24 hours. Complete paperwork is the deciding factor — missing medical or STCW certificates stop the clock.

Do you serve seafarers outside the UAE?

Yes. We handle files remotely for seafarers of any nationality, with scanned submission and courier delivery worldwide. Our largest candidate pools are India, Nepal, and the GCC states, and we hold local contact numbers in both Dubai and India.
